Do you feel you work all week to have the weekend fly by?
The key to finding your perfect day is determining your ultimate goal. You need to have some motivation to keep yourself moving forward.
With all of today’s distractions, it’s easy to fall into the work and Netflix mode. Don’t let life pass you by!
Something you can do is break your ultimate goal into smaller goals (which we covered last week).
This can ultimately help you find what your “Perfect Day” looks like and push you to the next step.
Let’s find some motivation in this busy world we live in.
Finding Motivation In The Chaos
I don’t need to tell or remind you that a lot is happening worldwide.
It can be tough to carve out some me-time once you factor in family obligations and your job.
How often have you heard, “I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day.”
It’s easy to see that there isn’t enough time to get everything done. Or is there?
I bet you can find extra hidden time in your day. The trick is to look hard at what you are doing and adjust.
Things To Consider
It’s okay to be selfish. Once you are honest with yourself, things start to happen.
For example, I have been reading a lot more than I ever have. It’s not only super exciting, coming from someone who used to hate reading. But I have found it beneficial since starting this blog!
Reading allows me to get more ideas and share them with you.
Motivation.
I read a blog post from Ramit Sethi, author of I Will Teach You To Be Rich. In the post, he stated that motivation doesn’t last.
Which makes you wonder why there are countless articles and books about finding motivation.
Once you start to think about motivation not lasting, the next step is finding out what you can do about it.
Reframe your thinking.
You can help yourself out by finding something you enjoy doing.
Two examples to get you started are enjoying coffee in the morning or going to the gym four days a week.
As you can see, the two examples above don’t provide any motivation.
So, considering what Ramit said, it’s time to find something that will work more than motivation. One way to do this is to find your perfect day.
When you start this process, you will come up with many things. I know I did.
Remember, this is about YOUR perfect, and it’s okay to be selfish here.
You must also remove all the obligations, stressors, family dynamics, and so on from the picture. Take your time and start to really think about this question.
What does your perfect day look like?

My Perfect Day
For starters, I would love always to be able to wake up to amazing views like the one above.
My perfect day starts without an alarm clock. This allows my body to wake up when it is ready. This also takes away stress since let’s be honest, alarms are annoying.
After waking up, I head into the kitchen and make coffee. I check my emails while the coffee fills the room with an amazing aroma.
This is important. I make sure not to respond to any of the emails (at this point). I am just getting an idea of what I need to do, if anything.
Additionally, I have a few newsletters I get, like this one, that I look forward to reading.
Now that the coffee is ready, I pour a cup and feel the cup’s warmth on my hands.
I go back to my email and open my favorite news newsletter. This is a quick way for me to my news and see what is happening in the world.
I then go back to my favorite newsletter, which I mentioned above.
This is where I get some travel tips and tricks!
During this “warming up” session, I put on my headphones and listen to Focus@Will. I choose the Uptempo channel, and before I know it, I’m focused, and my head is bobbing up and down to the tunes.
It doesn’t take long for me to be ready to accomplish a few tasks on my to-do list.
By now, I’m reading and responding to emails. I’ll pop over to my websites and respond to any comments left.
Workout Time!
Now comes my favorite part of the morning, time to get a workout in.
I love going to the gym, but I also have a small workout area in my room. I focus on body weight (my favorite can be found here), kettlebells, yoga, stretching, and meditation. I recently started getting into rings, which is surprisingly difficult and fun.
After my workout, I make a high-protein breakfast or a smoothie. Followed by taking a shower.
Time in my Side Hustle.
My next step is to work for a few hours on my business.
If I have any current freelance writing gig, I will focus my time on that.
Otherwise, this time is dedicated to the following.
- Outlining a few blogs
- Researching my next blog
- Responding to all my emails
- Writing and updating blog posts
- Responding to comments on blog posts
I have found that I am most productive in the morning, so I try to get all the business stuff out of the way first.
Having ME Time.
This takes us to the afternoon. This time will change depending on the day and the weather, but I feel most alive and inspired outdoors.
A long bike ride or a day hike is my go-to activity.
I complete my night by hanging out with loved ones, having an amazing dinner, and some TV.
I feel great when I have a perfect day like this, and it motivates me to keep it up. I will add that not all perfect days look like this.
I spent a few hours on SEO training yesterday and then took the rest of the day off. It’s crucial to listen to your body.
Important Step – Write It Down
I’ve mentioned this a lot over the years, but this simple step can change everything.
It’s crazy how writing down can help you achieve your goals.
Writing down your perfect day is no different.
If it helps, you can even break your day down into bullet points.
This is also a good idea for things that you want to achieve. Such as:
- Take a day off.
- Hiring a personal trainer.
- Spend the weekend with family.
Once you have a few bullet points next to your perfect day, you will soon realize something crazy is happening. Your list will start to work as a motivator!
Give yourself a few weeks after doing this. You might realize that you don’t need to find motivation anymore—the list you see daily will be enough.
Another thing to remember is that consistency is the key here.
You don’t have to wait for the perfect time to try your perfect day. Just start adding it to your daily life!
Every day you keep this in mind, you are working towards the life you want to live.
Even during the busiest days, you can squeeze in one or two things that make you happy.

For me, that is a quick bodyweight workout or five minutes of meditation.
Once you do this, you will see how better you feel, and that is how you tackle the important things that bring you joy.
Now It’s Your Turn
I hope my example above gave you ideas for building your perfect day.
Now it’s your turn, and I want to hear from you.
I suggest taking a few days to think about this.
Feel free to come back and share what your perfect day looks like in the comments below.

You have been provided with the tools.
Now, it’s your turn to share what you have come up with.
The canvas is blank, and you can put anything on it you want.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
This is a very interesting write up you have here. I have never stopped to think of what would quality any day as my perfect day. But I’m the criteria would definitely be long. This article has made me to ponder on why my perfect day would look like. Although, with the knowledge I have gained from this article, I can be able to figure out what a day like that would look like and give a vivid description.
Thanks, Nelson. It is a good thing to think about and gives you the motivation to continue working towards your dreams. Once you have an idea of your own perfect day, I would love to hear about it!
I actually believe that for one to actually have that perfect day that we desire then we need to try to understand how it works in total and how we can try to use the whole thing to our own advantage too. I have always been a very big fan of listening to music and meeting up with friends and although sometimes I like being alone, I understand which makes my day perfect so I agree that all in all, we have to make that action.
Nice, if you have any questions or want to share your perfect day, let me know. Also, welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. I think you will be happy with your choice. If you need direction there, feel free to reach out as well.
Hello There,
Thanks for sharing this awesome article as it was very exceptional while reading. I hope it helps others. Great days, beautiful days, and once-in-a-lifetime days, as well as lovely days..
That is true for many. It all depends on how you look at your day. You can focus on the good or the bad, and sometimes, looking at the bad is easier. The true perfect day is to remember what you are thankful for.
When needed, I always keep in mind the things that make me happy, which can become a game changer on the not-so-great days.
Wow Eric, Cannot thank you enough. I am glad I came across your article. Honestly I have heard a lot of people say ‘Always make sure you right things down as you start your day; make sure you get them all done’. I usually ignore this. I just decided to read through yours. Its something I am definitely going to start.
Thanks for sharing and come back soon as there will be more epic content.
