In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, this page explains how I earn income from affiliate links on this site. I believe in transparency and want you to understand that some links on WildeEscape.com may earn me a small commission if you make a purchase — at no additional cost to you.

If you click on a product or service link on WildeEscape.com and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission. This comes at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products and services I personally use, trust, or believe could benefit my readers.

What are affiliate links?

Affiliate links are special URLs that let a company know I referred you. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a commission or a small referral fee. You are not charged anything extra — the price stays the same whether you use my link or go directly to the site.

Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.

I use two main types of affiliate programs:

1. Amazon Affiliate links.

WildeEscape.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. If you click an Amazon link and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

And again, WildeEscape.com is a participant in the Amazon Affiliate Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com. Amazon Affiliate offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links.

If a blogger links to an Amazon product (with a unique code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. Amazon Affiliate links are not “pay per click.” If you click on the product link and stay around Amazon Affiliate and purchase something else, however, I will get a commission on that sale.

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Anytime you see a link that looks like astore.com/… or amazon.com… it can be assumed that it is an Amazon Affiliate link.

2. Product affiliate links.

These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, then the blogger gets a percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Things like e-book bundles, e-courses, and online packages are usually affiliated links, as well. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click” unless otherwise denoted.

Or put another way, I may also partner with other companies to promote ebooks, courses, or gear. If you click a link and make a purchase, I may earn a commission or referral fee. As always, you won’t pay anything extra, and I only recommend products I believe in or have personally vetted.

Where Do I Disclose?
I disclose affiliate relationships:

  • At the top of blog posts containing affiliate links
  • In email newsletters that include affiliate recommendations
  • In social media posts, where possible and appropriate

I’ll use language like “This post contains affiliate links,” or “I may earn a commission if you make a purchase.” The goal is to always keep it clear and upfront.

What about sponsored content?

I do not currently publish sponsored posts. If that changes in the future, I will always include a clear disclosure at the beginning of any sponsored content.
