What are Xero Shoes – An Overview
Xero Shoes is a company that specializes in minimalist footwear, including shoes and sandals.

I couldn’t get on board with these sandals. But I will say that I’ve never tried them. What I did purchase was the Z-Trail.
The interesting thing about these sandals is that they have a thin sole and a simple strap design. This allows you to feel the ground beneath you and protect your feet from sharp objects (unlike if you were barefoot).
Since 2009, Xero Shoes has expanded its product line from sandals to various styles of shoes and sandals for different activities.

Finding the perfect shoes is a struggle for many. A few years ago, I started using zero-drop shoes that I have grown to love.
I recently put on an old pair of cross-trainers, and they didn’t feel that great. I quickly learned they don’t have a zero drop, which I’ve started to enjoy.

Not all of these are cons, but I like covering everything I can think about when writing honest reviews.
The list was inspired by what I’ve noticed since wearing Xero shoes and sandals over the last few months.
Overall, Xero shoes make me more present and aware of what is around me!

Honestly, I think everyone should give them a try.
I purchased my first pair of sandals and liked the feeling. After using them for a few weeks (off and on), I decided to try two of their shoes.
It’s been a few weeks of trying two of them, and I love the 360, but the Hana model took some time to get used to. I also have noticed my feet sweat a bit more in these, which I try to avoid (so they might become gym-only shoes).
The pair I want to try next is Prio, and they look pretty cool, too.

April 2024 Update
Hey everyone, Eric here, dropping in with a quick update on my latest escapades with Xero Shoes. If you’ve been toying with giving these minimalist shoes a shot, I’d say go for it—there’s nothing quite like them.
However, I’ve got to be honest about the Hana model.
They’re no longer my go-to for outdoor activities. The main reason is traction isn’t their strong suit, especially on gravel, grass, or when things get slightly slick outside. They’re fine for quick trips around town, but that’s about it for me.
Now, let’s move on to the real highlight of my experience: I visited the Xero Shoes store in Denver near the airport!
It’s not just a store but what seems to be the heart of their operations, and the employees there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
It was pretty awesome to have the chance to try on all the pairs of shoes I’ve been eyeing since my first purchase.
I was excited to finally slip into the two pairs I’d been eyeing online.
So, if you find yourself in Denver or are curious enough to make the trip, it’s worth checking out their storefront. It’s one thing to read about and see these shoes online, but trying them in person is a total game-changer!
