Meet the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver
Let’s first talk about the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver.
This specialized electric shaver is designed to make shaving your head easier and more convenient.
I would say that it is extremely easy to set up, use, and clean. But we will go over more of that stuff shortly.
I like how the BaldiePro Head Shaver is set up. The ergonomic design fits comfortably in your hand and features a powerful motor that can quickly and efficiently shave your head.
The design makes it very easy to use the trimmer and nose hair trimmer, too!
After using this electric shaver, I will say the rotary blade system ensures an easy and even shave (just know, it’s not as close as a razor, but I haven’t found anything that is).
But is the BaldiePro right for you?
Is the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver Right for You?
Spending money on something you don’t need isn’t always easy. If you read this, you want to know if the BaldiePro is worth all the hype.
Well, I’ve been using this, and my honest opinion is to try it yourself!
The Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver is designed to make head shaving quicker and easier while providing a smooth, close’ish shave. Here are some reasons why you might want to try this shaver:
- Efficient and Fast
- The BaldiePro Head Shaver is designed to shave your head quickly and efficiently, making it an ideal choice for anyone who wants to save time in their grooming routine. Side note: I average seven minutes when shaving my face and head. But, using the Groomie, that is cut in half! Lastly, it’s very easy to maintain and keep clean (see the image below; you rinse it underwater).
- Comfortable to use
- As mentioned above, the shaver has a compact and ergonomic design that fits comfortably in your hand, making it easy to maneuver around your head and ensuring you can shave your head without discomfort. This includes using the attachments (which I only use the nose hair trimmer and metal trimmer).
- Smooth, close’ish shave
- And for those who missed it, I also like the rotary blade system. It provides a shockingly even shave, catches all the hairs (which I like), and I have yet to receive any irritation, nicks, or cuts!
- Easy to clean and maintain
- The BaldiePro Head Shaver is easy to clean and maintain, so you can spend less time on maintenance and more time enjoying your clean-shaven head.
Overall, if you’re looking for a quick, efficient, and easy way to shave your head, the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver is worth considering.
If there are two things I don’t like, it would be the cost and how close the shave is.
As for the cost, it’s not as bad as others on the market. And you can sign up to receive a new rotary blade as often as you would like.
The first purchase of the BaldiePro is around the same price as buying a new razor (speaking of that, I recently purchased a new safety razor that I’ll be reviewing soon as well; stay tuned).
It’s after this first purchase that is a bummer. Each new “blade” is $19.99 (the same for all blades similar to the Groomie!)
You must be prepared that this is NOT as close as shaving with a traditional razor. You will save a ton of time, but know it’s not 100% perfect!
If you decide to try it, you will also be surprised at how well it works.

Why Did I Choose The Groomie?
I’ve been shaving for many years, and part of the process is trying everything that works for you.
This also means I’ve tested different safety razors, shaving clubs, electric shavers, and different types of razors (such as the one on wheels; yes, it looks like a car), and that doesn’t even start with the shaving creams and gels I’ve tested.
So, I was pretty reluctant when I saw a few versions of the Balide.
After all, I’ve been using my trusty razor for many years and am happy with it. But I’m always curious about ways to make the process faster.
Over the years, I’ve found that when I’m camping (or on a road trip), I don’t always have access to a shower but want a smooth head.
So I will either pass on shaving for a few days (which is never fun) or shave with water, but I always end up cutting myself.
After much research and reviewing other reviews, I narrowed my decision to the BaldiePro and the Freebird (more on that below).
Being an actual “bald” guy, this not being my first rodeo, I feel a few things are important.
- It must be easy to use
- It needs to hold a charge for more than a few weeks
- There needs to be a battery indicator so I know when it needs to be charged
- The electric motor must be able to shave the head and face, even if it’s been a few days.
- Being able to use the shaver dry or wet is important (remember, I’m on the road and love camping)
I also wanted to know how fast and easy one of these shavers could be. Thus, I purchased it to test it out.
Of the reviews I’ve read, the average is around five minutes. It’s still faster than a shave (as I can shave my head in around seven minutes).
Receiving the BaldiePro
As you know by now, and like many bald people, I’m constantly looking for a way to save time when shaving.
The most important thing is that the shave doesn’t irritate the skin, it’s easy to use, and is something I’ll use.
You might be able to relate because comparing razors isn’t always fun, but one selling point was the BaldiePro has a 30-day trial or money-back guarantee.
Why wouldn’t you want to try it?
Honestly, I’m curious why you haven’t tried an electric shaver.
Let me know in the comments below.
Let’s get a bit more into my experience of using this shaver.
After purchasing my order, the shaver was on my doorstep five days later. The fast shipping made me happy.
I will also mention that along with the BaldiePro, I also ordered the oil-absorbing shine sheets (pictured below) and the natural pre-shave oil (mainly because I wanted to give “oil” a try for some time, pictured above).
First Real Impressions
After getting the box inside, it was well-packaged and came with a few things I didn’t realize.
Generally, when ordering electronics, the battery is at 50% charge. It is not the BaldiePro that I received. I was shocked to see it was at 90% charge.
So, I attached the shaver and decided to give it a try!
For those interested, I have used this head shaver with my shaving cream, with water, in the shower, dry, and with oil.
With all that said and my testing over the last month, I have found what works for me.
Remember, what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for you. That is the same with most things, but see what works for you.
I have started wetting my head and then putting some of the oil (I put three to four drops in my palm and then rut it around my head and face).
I will also say that the pre-shave oil smells pretty good. It’s not strong and goes away rather quickly.
The next step is to turn the shaver on and shave my face and head.
After a few days of use, I started using more pressure and noticed a much closer shave. Additionally, even though I’m pushing harder than I thought, the razor keeps performing, and I’ve had no skin irritation.
Here is something also important: as with all electric razors, you will not get as close as if using a razor. With that said, I still have my Harry’s, but I think that will be when I have the time or go to a special occasion and want a smooth head.
One last side note: I ordered the oil-absorbing shine sheets, which do a decent job. I constantly forget I have them and don’t know how long the oil-free head will last.
Review some of the costs and what you get with the Baldie Pro.
Using the BaldiePro
When I first got the BaldiPro, I used it daily for two months, and I have to admit it has grown on me.
One of the best parts is that it only takes me around three minutes to shave my face and head. Cleaning it takes less than a minute, and I’m ready to go.
And because I know you’re wondering, I didn’t shave for two days when first trying this electric shaver.
For my first shave, I did what I always do:
- Wet my face and head.
- Apply my shaving cream.
- Then, start to shave like normal.
But this test was a little different, I applied the shaving cream on only half my head and wet on the other.
I was shocked to see the results were even! However, I had to clean up the shaving cream, which took additional time as it coated the blades quicker than the side without it.
The next test I did was shaving in the shower, which is how I generally shave my head.
I used the BaldiePro with shaving cream and water with the same results as the first test (in the sink).
And, then it was time for the test I didn’t want to do because I’ve always had bad experiences. The dry shave!
The bad experiences are due to my skin being sensitive (my skin, not me!), so I’ve tested many different shaving creams, gels, and razors. So now you know I know what I’m talking about.
On a good note, everything went fine, but I needed something to ease the dry shave. That is also why I’m happy I purchased the natural pre-shave oil (pictured above).
Over the last few weeks, I’ve used the oil with the shaver (either in the shower or at the sink). And I have to admit it’s awesome!
This has been perfect, especially when you want a quick shave but don’t need to shower.
As many of you are guessing, this is not as close as a shave you get with a razor. It’s more of a 5 o’clock shadow if you will.
There is still some stubble as the electric razor cannot get as close as a razor. But this has been my best shave with an electric razor.
BaldiePro Cost
If you skipped this section, I have been interested in electric shavers for some time. But I didn’t know which one to choose.
There were a few things that I wanted for sure, such as a money-back guarantee. This led me to two different head shavers. See the image below for how I rated them.
I was originally torn between the Freebird and the (you might have guessed it) Groomie BaldiePro.
If you’re interested, the Freebird kit includes a FlexSeries shaver, ScalpSafe blade, clipper and guards, nose and ear trimmer, exfoliation brush, and scalp scrubber.
Similarly, the BaldiePro kit (as seen above) included the BaldiePro shaver, SmoothShave blade, Accessory adapter, exfoliation brush, pre-shave messager, 3-5-7mm clipper guards, precision clipper, and nose and ear trimmer.
As you know, I decided to go with the Groomie, but both razers offered similar pricing, blade replacement, and shipping and offered a “bonus kit” for my first order.

Is the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver the Perfect Grooming Tool?
In case you were wondering, the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver is an impressive grooming tool that delivers on its promises.
Remember, this uses an amazing rotary blade system to get a pretty close and even shave, but it will not replace an actual razer.
Another thing that makes the BladiePro so easy to use is the ergonomic design. This is important because you need to get around the curve of your head and ears.
If you’ve been looking for a quick way to shave your head, give the Groomie BaldiePro Head Shaver a try for yourself.
You won’t be disappointed!
10-month Update
I admit I had high hopes for this shaver, but ultimately, I missed the feeling of a razer. There is something about the smooth feeling you get from a razer.
With that said, there have been times when I’m running late or don’t have enough time to shave. This is when the BladiePro is awesome!
I also started using it on my weekend camping trips and will bring it on road trips.
If you enjoy being in the outdoors as much as I do, you quickly learn that shaving isn’t high on the priority list. And being bald can be annoying (think about what sticks to Velcro and you can understand what I’m talking about).
Oh, one more thing, I like the nose hair trimmer and clippers it comes with. I’ve been using these attachments weekly (even better since my other nose hair trimmer stopped working)!
And let’s be real, everyone needs a nose hair trimmer.
So, as I don’t use this head shaver daily, it still has a place in my bathroom. I like how easy it is to use, it holds a charge for a super long time (I think I’ve charged it twice since getting it), and it’s always ready to go when needed.

Update: Why I’m Thankful for the Groomie BaldiePro
I wanted to share a quick update about my experience with the Groomie BaldiePro. Recently, I had a bit of an accident and ended up with a nasty cut on the back of my head. It’s in a tricky spot, making it hard to see and avoid when shaving.
I’m not sure what anyone will think, but below is an image of the cut for reference.
Thankfully, the Groomie BaldiePro has been a lifesaver.
Unlike traditional razors, which could easily aggravate my cut, the Groomie BaldiePro allows me to shave safely without further injuring myself.
The precision and ease of use have truly made a difference, and I’m incredibly grateful to have this tool during my recovery.
I had no idea how much effort baldies have to put into grooming.
Hope I won’t ever personally need this information!
What I do know: It is always a temptation to run my hand on a bald head.
What I don’t know is why. WHY?
That said, when the baldie is stubble free, it’s a good day.
Haha, I honestly don’t think you will need this information. And I can understand the temptation, I always want to push red buttons and not sure why either.
And, as a bald person, I know how tough it can be to find the perfect grooming routine. As I mentioned before, I’ve tested out a ton of blades as well as gels/creams/soaps and still stand by my tested and true shaver and cream.
Anyway, thanks for reading it. I know it was a longer post!
