Let me know in the comments below.

Good Morning. I’m sitting here drinking a cup of coffee with a HUGE smile on my face. Can you guess what today is? It’s time for me to pack up the Rav4 and HIT THE ROAD again!

I’ve been looking forward to leaving for a while now. Over a year, to be precise. I had to cut my road trip short last year due to COVID.

But today is the day. After I post this, I’m heading out on the open road!

This Trip’s Ideas

I was thinking about the post I wrote a few weeks ago. Click here if you haven’t read that post. I realized that I haven’t ever posted about the places I go. I might give updates, but I don’t talk about each park, specifically what I did, where I stayed, and so on.

I want to try something different this time.

My new plan is to document what I do and where I go. Everything from the National Parks, Monuments, good restaurants, coffee shops, and maybe where I’m camping (generally for free locations, might I add).

I hope this will be a great resource for you and me in the future.

Additionally, I’ll be meeting up with friends that I haven’t seen in a long time on this trip. And, if everything works out, I will be meeting a few people that I’m very excited about! I don’t want to share anything too specific right now, just if it doesn’t work out.

I can’t wait to connect with friends and meet new ones on this trip!

Things To Note

If you travel to National Parks, you may already know this, but it’s important to remember to check each park’s website. You can find a list of all the parks and information by clicking here.

Some of the important information to look for includes road closures, trail closures, possible park closures, and something that I just found out about extra fees! Thanks, Mum, for the heads up.

Yep, you read that right. I just searched all the parks I plan on going to and found out the Glacier National Park has a ticketing system in place. I found out that you can’t just pay the fee (or have an America the Beautiful pass, which I will be getting today!).

In this case, Glacier National Park requires you to have the pass (or pay for a daily), a ticket (I think you get online), and an extra $2 to get into the park.

This is a bummer, but then again, everyone seems to be hitting the road as well. I think COVID, lifted restrictions, and the desire to explore will make this road trip interesting.

The Time Has Come

Well, I wanted this post to be short and sweet. Not only that, but I have to finish loading up the Rav4.

I will also mention something here. If you leave a comment or send me an email, remember that I will not be in reception all the time. But, I will respond to everyone as soon as I can!

If you have been to any of the National Parks in the western United States, let me know. My first destination is Arches, but I may have a stop along the way.

Don’t forget to be on the lookout for more posts about this Epic Road Trip! I’ll leave you with a quote from Lao Tzu. I know I’m not walking all of it. I will be driving over 5,000 miles, visiting 10 states, and hiking many miles of our beautiful National Parks.

  1. OMG The day is finally here to begin your Epic Road Trip!

I’ve been reading and hearing about all the research and planning you’ve done. It will be fun to read your blogs along your journey. It will make us feel like we are along for the ride with you.

May your adventure be safe and filled with fun.

To quote my favorite poet, Dr. Seuss:
    Oh the places you’ll go!

    • Thanks! That is my goal, but we will see how it goes. This is something new for me (writing about my adventures while I’m doing it). I have one last trip to fill up the Rav, get some gas, and I’m out of here! It is still crazy that it’s actually happening.
      Good quote too!
