Taking A Different Approach This Week

It is now in 2021!
Congratulations on making it.

I was trying to think of something to write about for my post this week. After all, this is my first post of the year. But what should it be about?

I felt like reviewing some gear but wanted to do something different.

And then it hit me!

I will step away from my typical weekly post and write a few small ones.

My idea is to write one short post every day this week. I know this is different from what I generally do. But that’s the fun of having your own blog and having the ability to mix it up.

Let me know what you think of this idea.
If I get positive feedback, I will be more than willing to do more of these.

You might be wondering why a rock-climbing photo is at the top of the page. When I was thinking of what image to put at the top, I kept thinking about the word “Approach.”

When I kept saying this word, I thought of rock climbing. It also might be due to wanting to start rock climbing, but it’s a cool picture, and so there you go!

My Fascination With Gear

As you know, I LOVE gear. I mean really love it.

In fact, I decided to start a new website (it’s still being built, but it should be pretty epic)!

Case in point, pretty much every week, someone asks me about a piece of gear they are considering buying. Most of the questions are about specific types of gear or just suggestions on something to buy.

Recently, the items range from a gadget I’m using in the RAV, what bag I suggest for a specific task, to a piece of gear I have on me.

If I get a few people asking about a specific item, I will generally make a post about it. That is one of the cool things about this community and the questions I receive.

So, as I’ve always said, feel free to ask any questions you might have.

It’s also fun to learn and see what you are interested in. And if I don’t happen to know the answer, we will learn together.

One thing, especially this last year, is that I wanted to know what was going on in the world without having to watch the news. This is mainly due to not enjoying watching the news on TV. It always seems to put me in a bad mood.

I will also share where I get my daily news fix this week.

Something Different

This brings me to today’s post. Generally speaking, I pick a topic to write about and focus specifically on that.

As the title suggests, I want to do something different this week.

This week, I will post a shorter article on the “gear” I use the most. I hope they will be short(er) as well as informative.

To make this easy to navigate, I will give you a bulleted list below and provide links to each one as I complete them.

One Post A Day This Week

Well, it’s the first week of January 2021!

A Photo From My Frist Snowshoeing Adventure

Since I just came up with this, I will post one short article daily this week. See what they are below.

What Are Your Thoughts?

After reading about what I use almost every day, what are your thoughts? Better yet, have you used anything I listed above yourself?

I would also love it if you let me know what you think about these shorter posts. If you all like this concept, I will do more of them. It is my way of sharing five or so things I most commonly use and read.

Just for fun, check out this photo I took from Capital Peak!

  1. Personally, I prefer shorter blogs. That said, it’s challenging for me to do anything every day. Lol

Also, some topics NEED to be longer to cover some topics.

I like your bullet points. Always like easy ways to get to different sites/pages.

As with all your blogs, this is a fun and easy read.

    • Thanks! I wanted to have a different approach for the new year. I don’t think I can do this every week, but I think a few times every so often will be great.
