I recently talked with a friend about my previous blog post, What Makes You Happy.

If you haven’t read that post yet, you should!

After you leave a comment on what makes you happy, come back here, and let’s talk about what Foods Make You Happy.

Okay, now let’s get back to this topic. You know that one of the things that makes me happy is spending time with family and friends.

The interesting part is when I am with family, and it involves one thing.

That one thing is FOOD.

It was just Thanksgiving, and the holidays will be here before we know it.

We all know that there is one thing, and right now, food is everywhere. At my last job, I remember people always dropping things off at the station to say thanks.

That is one thing I miss, but at the same time, it will be nice not to be tempted by all the sweets.

Happiness

The concept of food is exciting to me. I love it and can’t get enough of it.

There is also an awful side to food as well. I can’t ever seem to stop eating.

Yes, I have tried to limit myself, diets, and even intermittent fasting. All of these have their pros and cons, but the fact remains I love it.

Side note, I’m actually eating trail mix and listening to Focus@Will (also a great holiday gift for someone you don’t know what to get them) while I’m typing this.

Let me take you to last week, while I was at work.

It was one of those days that everything was not going as it should, you know what I’m talking about. Then a co-worker told me there was something in the refrigerator for me when I got a brake. Talk about a surprise!

So that right there is happiness.

Even though it was not a great day, there was one slice of joy. It was happiness in the form of homemade bread. I shouldn’t say this, but if you want to know the way to my heart, it’s homemade goodies.

This seems like a good place to pause.

I was going to make this a long blog about how food has a funny way of making us happy. And go into why that is and how many different forms comfort food can take.

Instead, let’s keep it short and sweet.

I’m going straight into why I made this post and talked about my dinner last night. After that, I will tell you where you can get the best burger I have ever had.

Best Dinner

Since you read my other post on what makes you happy, you know spending time with family is top on my list.

We all know that 2020 has been a royal pain in you know what, but I realized that this year has also given me more time to do what brings me joy than I can remember.

Case and point, I have been able to have more time with my Mum than in the last few years combined!

This is one thing that I’m grateful for, and makes me smile every day.

Okay, so back to last night. I decided we needed to have a fun dinner.

Mainly because COVID is taking over again, and you never know what will happen. And keeping up with food making me happy, I decided to get one of the best burgers ever!

The amazing bottle cap burger with sweet potato fries

The image is of the Bottle Cap Burger. This is an amazing burger from a local restaurant.

If you cannot see from the picture above, fried jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, a perfectly grilled burger patty, and some sweet potato fries.

Talk about amazing! This must be what heaven must taste like.

What Is Your Favorite Food?

I want you to do two things for me in the comments below.

  1. Let me know what your favorite food is.
  2. Please tell me what your favorite restaurant is.

The food might be from your favorite restaurant.

Or you could be like me and love many different types of food. But a great burger is top on my list. If I had to choose my top three, it would be a burger, all Mexican food, and I love sushi too.

But, I am asking for your favorite food and restaurant.

I hope there will be many new places I can check out, so honestly, leave a comment below, and I will check it out.

To start us off, and since the burger is fresh in my brain. I will share with you the best burger I have had.

The restaurant is called Yaks Off The 5 and is near Mount Shasta.

I have referred so many people there that it’s not even funny. They have great food, the best burger I have had to date, a good beer selection, and a friendly environment.

They give you a sample of their sticky buns if you tell them it’s your first time. And they taste amazing (think of a freshly baked cinnamon roll covered in some sticky amazing sauce).

Don’t forget to put your favorite food and restaurant in the comments below!
